Nottoway Falls after a lot of rain!
Normal water level is much lower and a great place to take the kids or spouse for a nice nature walk, picnic (with carry out from Uptown Coffee of course) nap or just relax on the rocks. Bring walking shoes, blanket etc.

Things To Do/Landmarks .
- Nottoway Falls...Aprox 5 miles North of Victoria on Hwy 49 is the Nottoway falls. A man made fishing reservoir/lake and water supply for the Town of Victoria. On the east side of the dam under the bridge are foot paths along the river that take you to natural falls. Large beautiful rock structures, natural water falls and nature await you. Once you walk all the way to end, you have probably descended a few hundred feet below the man made fall. Great picnic spots on the large rocks.
- No Limits Skydiving Approx 3 miles east of Victoria on Hwy 40 located at the Lunenburg Airport is No Limits Skydiving. These folks attract dare devils from all over for the thrill of jumping out of a plane.
- Uptown Coffee Cafe - Suburban coffeehouse/sandwich shop wrapped in the history of some antiques and pictures of the town and railroad history located under The Uptown Inn. Uptown Coffee Cafe is known for its great line up of live music of all kinds on Friday nights from 7-9pm. On the third Saturday of every month Uptown Coffee hosts the band "Farm Use"....old time string music with dance instructions at 630 & music & dance from 7-9pm! Free Wi fi. Sandwiches, soups, salads, wraps, breakfast till 1100 am, and specialty coffee.
- Geocaching- there are several geocaches in and around the town!
- Therapeutic Therapies- Day spa located a few doors down on Main Street in Victoria.
- Antique Gallery- Large antique mall located two doors down from The Uptown Inn. Many vendors and some rare finds. Antique lovers' dream.
- Victoria Auction- Local auction company that normally has an onsite auction monthly. The auctions are very popular as Main Street is lined with folks from all over.
- Victoria Railroad Park- Originally the yard and shop area of The Virginian Railroad. Now it has several walking paths, playground equipment, several pavilions, volleyball court and is on the main trail of the "Rails to Trails." Rails to trails is currently under construction as it is the converting of old rail bed into hiking, biking, and horse back riding trails. Several side trails extend off of main line around a few small lakes in town .
- Visit the birthplace of Roy Clark. Roy was born in Meherrin in Lunenburg County. A talented banjo, mandolin, and guitar player, he went on to become a highly-acclaimed country musician and a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador. He is perhaps best known for his role as co-host of the Hee Hawtelevision program. Meherrin is about 15 miles west of Victoria.
- Leigh Mountain- One of the furthest east mountain on the topo maps. Approx 20 miles away. Short scenic drive to the Gallion State Forest/ Twin Lakes area. If you are planning on visiting Farmville, take the back way and you can find this mountain. Drive up Leigh Mountain Road and, on a clear day, see beautiful mountain peaks in the distance.
- Private Museum in Victoria- Owned by former mayor Ronald Mattox, a railroad enthusist, son and grandson of Virginian Railroad employees. Many family owned treasures as well as stuff donated from local folks to help build the inventory. Several model trains, old passenger train bench from train station and much more. A must see. Ask us and we can try and arrange a showing. We know the owner well...he's my dad!
- Crewe Railroad Museum- 15 mins north on 49 is the town of Crewe that has a small railroad museum.
- Keysville Drive-In -an old fashioned drive-in movie theater located on the edge of Lunenburg County. A short drive of 15 miles from Victoria. Family friendly atmosphere as you watch movies under the stars.
